Chale Island’s Green Team

As part of The Sands at Chale Island’s continued commitment to helping protect our environment and reduce the impact that the resort has on Chale island, the Chale Green Team has been created. This group of dedicated staff members are working to help implement numerous green initiatives across Chale. Improving the waste management, and recycling efforts that are already in place at the resort. Helping keep our beaches and forest free of trash through regular beach cleans and forest walks, and identifying areas where the resort can reduce its energy consumption and ways in which our guests’ impact on the environment can be reduced, without reducing their experience.

The Chale Green Team join what is an already well-established movement within The Sands group, looking at promoting green intakes across the Diani community. The Sands Thinking Green Project promotes sustainable practices, works with local organisations to improve education on environmental issues, both for local residents and also those who are visiting the area and overseeing the continued efforts of the Sands Group to make their own practices more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
